Director’s Greeting

Welcome to the website of Chinese with Meggie Language School in Austin, Texas. We are delighted that you are interested in our program.

I founded Chinese with Meggie in 2006 and Little Tiger Chinese Immersion School in 2014. My goal  is to help students in the Austin community to develop excellent Chinese language skills in a fun, engaging environment.

Great teachers are vital to our program. All of our teachers are native speakers of Chinese and most have graduate level training in foreign language instruction. Everyone on our teaching team believes that language acquisition is a social activity based on engagement and interaction. In keeping with this philosophy, our program is unique in its insistence on low teacher: student ratios. Class sizes are limited to allow each student the kind of attention that is critical to effective language learning. In addition, the curriculum and materials that we use in our classes are designed by us and reflect our own practical experience teaching the Chinese language.

Our school also aims to create a community of Chinese language learners, and to provide the members of this community with an array of resources to help them at various stages of their language learning journey. Chinese with Meggie offers language classes throughout the week to everyone from toddlers through adult professionals. Our sister program, Little Tiger Chinese Immersion School, is a full-day, M-F, program for children ranging from PreK-2 through 5th Grade. In addition to these core programs, we have also created several unique international exchange opportunities for our students in China and Taiwan.
